Within the next week, we will be making some minor changes to the Bid Confirmation page (the page seen after you have placed an official bid) to help members better understand and use the proxy bidding system.
If you are the high bidder, and the current item price is close to your maximum bid amount, you will see an “Enter Higher Max Bid” button on the Bid Confirmation page so you can easily increase your maximum bid if you so choose. If the current item price is within one bid increment of your maximum bid amount, you will see messaging explaining that you will be outbid if anyone else places a bid for that item. This information will also be displayed on the item page when you are signed in.
In addition, the Update Status button that currently appears on the page will be changed to a Check Your Status link. This link will be displayed if 30 minutes or fewer remain for the listing. Similar to the current button, clicking this link will bring you back to the item page so you can easily check your bidding status and the time remaining.
